2026 Reuse & Thrift Fashion Show
Chico Creative Reuse is now accepting applications for this year’s multi-artist reuse and thrift fashion show celebrating upcycled fashion, creative reuse, and wearable art!
👗 EVENT DETAILS
This outdoor fashion show takes place Saturday, March 21, 2025, in the afternoon on a closed street between 5th–7th Street & Orange Street near downtown Chico. Models will walk an outdoor runway to live music as part of the Maker’s Muse Festival hosted by Maker Radio.
✨ Fashion show decor and artistic direction are provided by Chico Creative Reuse.
✨ Applicants choose, manage and style their models along with coordinating their walks
📝 APPLICATION PROCESS
📅 Applications due: Sunday, March 1, 2026
💸 Free to apply & participate
A select number of artists will be chosen based on:
• Creativity & originality
• Alignment with upcycling and reuse
• Ability to complete work within the timeline
📣 Selected artists will be notified by Saturday, March 7, 2026
To be considered, artists must complete and submit the application form which can be found at chicocreatiovereuse.org
👥 WHO CAN APPLY
✔️ All experience levels welcome,
✔️ Must be 18 or older
✔️ Open to individuals or collaborative teams
✔️Beginner, developing, and established artists encouraged to apply
📌 REQUIREMENTS
• Each artist may showcase 1–4 designs
• Availability required for:
– Artist check-in (phone or in person): March 7 or 8
– Rehearsal run-through (no designs): March 14 or 15 (attend one)
– Day-of check-in: 1 hour before show on March 21 (time TBA)
♻️ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Outfits or accessories that:
• Are made primarily from repurposed or thrifted materials
• Tell a story or push fashion boundaries
• Reflect inclusive styles, from avant-garde to everyday wearable art
Creative reuse (upcycling) transforms discarded materials into higher-value artistic or functional pieces—reducing waste and keeping materials out of landfills.✨ Example materials include (but are not limited to):
Fibers & textiles • Magazines & newspapers • Cardboard & boxes • Old books & calendars • Wood & metal • Plastics • Electronics & tech components • And more!
