Resource Recovery

Chico Creative Reuse’s Resource Recovery Program keeps usable art and craft materials out of the landfill by collecting, organizing, and redistributing them back into the community.

Art Supply Collection
We accept donations of gently used and surplus art, craft, and creative materials from individuals, schools, businesses, and organizations. These materials are given a second life through creative reuse, supporting artists, educators, and makers of all ages.

Material Management
Donated supplies are carefully sorted, assessed, and organized by our volunteers to ensure safety, accessibility, and ease of use. This process allows us to responsibly manage our inventory while maximizing the impact of each donation.

Community Distribution
Materials are made available through open distribution days, where community members can access low cost and free creative supplies. Open days also serve as designated times for accepting donations, making it easy for the public to both give and receive materials in one welcoming space.

Through this program, Chico Creative Reuse supports creativity, equity, and waste reduction, turning surplus supplies into shared community resources.
